The athlete’s mother admitted that when she found out she was pregnant she intended to terminate her pregnancy because, her family’s economic situation was so precarious that she feared a fourth child would only come along to make everything worse.
Young, But Talented
Cristiano Ronaldo’s first contact with a soccer ball occurred when the athlete was three years old. When he turned seven he started playing for children’s clubs. His talent was so noticeable that he began to stand out among his teammates and, by the time he was nine years old, the Madeira Sports Club and the National Sports Club were interested in signing him.
It was at that moment that both little Cristiano and his family understood that sport was his path to follow.
