6. Don’t hit the brakes too hard at traffic lights
We talked about being alert on the previous page. This applies not only to situations where you are “just” driving between others, but also when you are driving towards a traffic light. By making sure you slow down a little while before the traffic light, you don’t have to hit the brakes full force later. That saves a lot of gasoline and therefore a lot of money!
5. Maintain a constant speed as much as possible
This can be tricky if you are on a major road, but on rural roads it is definitely worth trying. Accelerating unnecessarily wastes gasoline. By driving at a constant speed as much as possible, you can save up to thirty percent gasoline.
