16. Mandalay, Myanmar
Mandalay, the capital city of Myanmar (Burma), isn’t an old city as far as some cities go. But it is home to plenty of temples and places to visit. The city is relatively safe, although it does have a name for local drug trading. Elsewhere in Myanmar, there are areas of serious civil tensions and unrest.
